Learn about the Canadian and United States Dietary Guidelines and how to have a seat at the table when it comes to public policy.
Participants are expected to watch the video, reflect on its content, and complete the CME self-assessment and CME evaluation. Only upon completing this process will a participant's continuing education certificate be generated. The estimated time a learner will need to complete this self-study activity is 75 minutes.
This activity is approved for continuing education for physicians, nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists.

Objectives:
- Learn how the 2019 Canada's Food Guide was developed without industry influence.
- Understand the history of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines and what steps can be taken to eliminate racial bias in future iterations of the guidelines.
- Describe the policy process for developing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the need for removal of the emphasis on meat and dairy groups.
Requirements for successful completion: Participants will be awarded contact hours commensurate with participation after completion of the post-test with a score of 70% or higher.
